One of the world's top skate innovators, George Neal, owner of, Liberty Sports as been producing his own frames, wheels and bearings for inline speed skates.since 2006.

Before that George Neal was at  the Tru-Rev brand.

A machinist and industrial designer, Neal has earned a growing reputation as a top producer of high-quality racing frames in the USA.

He is also responsible for a number of important skate innovations, including one-piece axles, which became the standard for speed skates after he invented them in the 1990s.

Liberty Sports produces two lines of frames under the Ion brand. The Ion Avenger series and the Vanquish series.

The frames come in a  range of sizes starting at 4x90mm.

The frames are made at Neal's new machine shop in North Lauderdale, Fla.








Ion Avenger

The frames are CNC milled from a solid block of billet aluminum.

Ion Vanquish

The Ion Vanquish incorporates multiple-axis-machining (MAM) to achieve what is done on the inside of the frames. Head-to-head the Vanqish is stiffer and 5-10% lighter than the AVENGER. Shown in the photo is the new Vanquish frame with boot and wheels. The boot and wheels are shown but not included. The frames are CNC milled from a solid block of billet aluminum. Please note spacers are not included with Ion frames. Available sizes are:
